terms of service
last updated 2026-10-30. effective 2026-10-31 (12:00 AM Eastern). operator: PixelMint LLC, contact [offers@maxi.domains](mailto:offers@maxi.domains).
launch phase: until Jan 3, 2027, maxi.domains sells only its own (house) domains. PixelMint LLC is the seller, you pay our own wallet directly, and no multisig payment is involved. third-party listings, seller accounts and the 2-of-3 multisig settlement open on Jan 3, 2027; the parts of this page about them apply only from that date.
maxi.domains is operated by PixelMint LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("maxi.domains", "we", "us"). it is a marketplace for bitcoin-themed domain names. by creating an account (and again each time you accept an updated version), by using the site, buying, submitting a domain, or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to these terms.
1. what we do
- we list domains we own ("house domains") and domains submitted by other owners ("sellers").
- house domains are direct sales. we are the seller, you pay our own wallet directly, and no multisig payment is involved. the refund policy applies.
- third-party domains are sold through a 2-of-3 multisig settlement. each order gets its own bitcoin address. the buyer, the seller and maxi.domains each hold one of its three keys, and any two of them must sign to move the funds. maxi.domains never holds or controls the funds alone: we can only add our signature (co-sign) to a transaction that the buyer or the seller also signs. the payment protection terms are part of these terms.
- we are a neutral venue. for third-party domains we are not a party to the sale contract between the buyer and the seller.
- we are not a registrar. domains move between registrar accounts using the registrar's own push or transfer tools.
2. prices and payment
- prices are in BTC. any USD figure is only an estimate.
- a price shown on a domain is its "buy it now" price. "make offer" domains have no fixed price. sending an offer creates no obligation for either side until a price is agreed in writing and an order is opened.
- you pay the exact amount shown to the address created for your order. we do not accept other payment methods.
- third-party domains have a minimum price, shown on the submit page.
- a domain that has expired, or that expires within 30 days, cannot be sold until it is renewed.
3. how a third-party sale completes
- before paying, the buyer gives a multisig key, signs a practice transaction that can never be broadcast to show the key works, and checks that their own wallet shows the same multisig payment address.
- after the payment confirms, the seller pushes the domain to the buyer's registrar account.
- release. we prepare the release transaction: 95% of the amount received to the seller and our 5% fee, with the network fee paid out of our fee. the buyer confirms receipt by signing it, and we co-sign.
- if the buyer does not sign within 3 days after the push is reported, the seller and we may release instead, once we have checked that the domain arrived in the buyer's account (for example by WHOIS/RDAP or registrar records).
- refunds are signed by the buyer and us. the network fee of a refund comes out of the refund.
- bundles are all-or-nothing. the seller has 14 days from funding to deliver every domain in the bundle, and gets warnings on days 3, 5, 7, 9 and 13. if any domain is not delivered by day 14, the buyer gets a full refund, the seller receives no funds, and the seller may lose any domains already pushed. there are no partial payouts.
- disputes. either side can open a dispute from their order page. while it is open we do not co-sign a release or a refund on that order. we respond within 2 business days. we then co-sign for one side only: the whole release or the whole refund, never a split.
- our 5% fee is owed on every completed third-party sale, including one the buyer and seller sign together without us.
4. seller representations and warranties
you accept these when you turn on selling in your account (they are also published on their own as the versioned seller warranties, which you re-accept when they change). when you submit a domain, and again on every day until its sale completes or the listing ends, you represent, warrant and promise that:
- (a) you are the sole legal and beneficial owner of the domain name, with full power and authority to sell it and to transfer clear, unencumbered title to it;
- (b) listing and selling the domain does not violate any third party's rights (including trademark and other intellectual property rights), any ICANN, registry or registrar policy, or any law;
- (c) the domain was not obtained through hacking, social engineering, an unauthorized registrar transfer, fraudulent account access, or any other unauthorized means;
- (d) the domain is not subject to any pending dispute, lien, lock, court order or claim that would stop or reverse its transfer, and you will tell us at once if that changes;
- (e) you can push the domain at its current registrar, and you will not sell or transfer it elsewhere while it is listed here or an order for it is open.
we can approve, reject or delist any listing at our discretion. for house domains we are the seller, and this section and section 8 do not apply to them.
4a. accounts
- you need an account to buy (including direct sales of house domains), to make offers, to set price alerts and to sell. browsing and the newsletter need no account.
- an account needs only an email address and a password. a display handle is optional. we may also ask for your name, postal address and phone number; see the privacy policy.
- one person per account. keep your password (and your two-factor codes, if you turn them on) safe; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
- you must confirm your email before you can buy or sell, and accept the current terms (and, to sell, the current seller warranties). when they change, you accept the new version at your next login before you can do anything else.
- we may disable an account for a breach of these terms, fraud or abuse. open orders keep their multisig payment rules.
- you can delete your account when you have no open orders. we then remove your email, password and preferences, but keep the records of your orders, multisig transactions, accepted terms and our audit log for 6 years, because they are needed for disputes, accounting and legal claims (see the privacy policy).
5. buyers
- you are responsible for giving us a correct account id at the domain's registrar, and for keeping the key you use for your order safe. we cannot sign for you or recover a lost key.
- after the push you take over renewals, DNS and everything else about the domain.
- we make no promise about a domain's traffic, search ranking or trademark status. you check those before buying.
6. acceptable use
do not use the site to launder funds, list domains you do not own or that infringe someone else's trademark, scrape or attack the site, or open orders you do not intend to pay. we can refuse service to anyone.
7. our ownership check is not a guarantee of title
before we approve a third-party listing, we ask the seller to add a DNS TXT record to the domain. this only shows that, at the time we checked, someone could change the domain's DNS. it does not prove who legally owns the domain, that it was obtained lawfully, or that it is free of claims, and you should not rely on it as proof of title.
THE SITE AND OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ABOUT ANY THIRD-PARTY DOMAIN NAME, INCLUDING ITS OWNERSHIP, THE VALIDITY OF ITS TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS, OR THE ACCURACY OF REGISTRAR OR WHOIS/RDAP INFORMATION. WE DO NOT CONDUCT TITLE SEARCHES AND DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT A DOMAIN NAME IS FREE FROM PRIOR UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFERS OR CLAIMS. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND TITLE.
8. seller indemnification
you (the seller) will defend, indemnify and hold harmless PixelMint LLC and its owners, officers, employees and contractors from and against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, settlements, fines, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs, arising out of or relating to:
- any breach of your representations and warranties in section 4;
- your listing or sale of a domain on maxi.domains;
- any claim by a person who says they are the true owner or registrant of a domain you listed, or that it was stolen or transferred without authorization;
- any registrar, registry, ICANN, UDRP, law-enforcement or court proceeding about a domain you listed.
we may choose our own counsel and control the defense of any such claim, and you will cooperate with us. you may not settle a claim that affects us without our written consent. this section survives the end of your listing and of these terms.
9. ownership claims, holds and our co-signature
if we receive notice, evidence or a formal inquiry from a registrar, registry, law-enforcement agency or any third party claiming that a domain listed or sold here was accessed without authorization, stolen, or is subject to an ownership dispute, we may, in our sole discretion and without first needing a court order:
- withhold our co-signature on any release for that order;
- pause the completion of the order;
- delist the domain and decline new orders for it;
- treat the claim as a dispute on that order;
- share order details with the registrar or law enforcement to help resolve it, to the extent the law allows.
a hold lasts until we are reasonably satisfied that the claim is resolved, or until a registrar decision or court order tells us what to do. if we conclude the seller did not have the right to sell the domain, we may co-sign a refund to the buyer instead of a release. a hold only means we do not add our signature: we cannot move, take or keep the funds in a multisig payment address on our own. withholding our co-signature is not a breach of these terms, and we are not liable for any delay it causes.
10. sole remedy if a transfer is reversed
if a domain transferred through maxi.domains is later clawed back, reversed or frozen by a registrar, registry, ICANN or court order because of an unauthorized transfer, theft or ownership dispute:
- our only responsibility, and your sole and exclusive remedy against us, is that we will co-sign, with the buyer, a refund to the buyer of any funds still held in the order's multisig payment address. the network fee of the refund comes out of the refund.
- we never reimburse bitcoin already released from the order's multisig payment address, whether it was released by the buyer and us, by the seller and us after the 3-day period in section 3, or by the buyer and the seller together.
- this does not limit any claim the buyer has against the seller.
11. limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE TO ANY BUYER, SELLER OR THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION RIGHTS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
IN ALL CASES, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY THIRD-PARTY DOMAIN SALE WILL NOT EXCEED THE PLATFORM FEES WE ACTUALLY RETAINED FROM THAT SPECIFIC TRANSACTION. FOR A HOUSE DOMAIN, IT WILL NOT EXCEED THE PRICE YOU PAID US FOR THAT DOMAIN.
we are also not liable for registrar or registry outages, blockchain congestion or fees, a wrong address or registrar account you gave us, or a key that you lost or a transaction that a party would not sign.
12. changes and contact
we may update these terms. the date at the top changes when we do. questions, and reports that a domain listed here was stolen or listed without the owner's permission: [offers@maxi.domains](mailto:offers@maxi.domains).
13. governing law and severability
these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part is limited only as much as needed. sections 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 survive the end of any listing, sale or account.
